Quantifying MyCiTi supply usage using Big Data and Agent-Based Modelling

نویسندگان

چکیده

Cape Town's Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, MyCiTi, uses an Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system that generates large volumes of transactional data on a daily basis. This can be considered Big Data. The AFC in its raw format, however, is incapable supporting supply and demand analysis (e.g. studying bus occupancy rates). Agent-Based Modelling (ABM) used to analyse such for purpose. paper discusses the development calibration MATSim-based ABM BRT system. It shown data-formatting algorithms are critical preparation modelling activities. Furthermore, appropriate parameters requires careful consideration terms collection, simulation testing, justification, which discussed. furthermore shows calibrated generate outputs as on-board volumes, system-demand overview, even individual commuter path choice behaviour. Finally, validation exercise model developed this study able provide good estimates (R2 = 0.85). is, recommended further research conducted into agent choices through simulation.

Deductive and inductive data collection for agent-based modelling: A Dairy Supply Chain Case Study

This study compares the use of the deductive approach (questionnaire) and the inductive approach (role playing games) in the calibration of an agent-based model (ABM) and studies their effects on model validity and utility. ABM is a modelling methodology that puts emphasis on stakeholder behaviour (Samuelson, 2005). The validity of behavioural assumptions is critical in ABM because it increases...

Multi-agent based supply chain modelling with dynamic environment

Supply chain management (SCM) is not always concerned with optimal solutions conventionally in terms of product allocation. Virtual market based supply chain operation solves the product allocation problem by distributing the scheduled resources based on the agent interactions in the market. We formulate supply chain model as a discrete resource allocation problem under dynamic environment, and...

Data integration in agent based modelling

We describe a framework, SMUSA, for developing scenarios in a networked business environment using agent based modelling. The framework is usable by anybody with domain expertise, but requiring no programming knowledge. By developing the specification details in XML, the framework integrates smoothly with data mining tools for parameterising customer preferences and identifying opportunities an...

New Framework For Improving Big Data Analysis Using Mobile Agent

the rising number of applications serving millions of users and dealing with terabytes of data need to a faster processing paradigms. Recently, there is growing enthusiasm for the notion of big data analysis. Big data analysis becomes a very important aspect for growth productivity, reliability and quality of services (QoS). Processing of big data using a powerful machine is not efficient solut...
